Instructions:
1 Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent the brownies from sticking.
2 Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and well-combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each one is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract for that rich, aromatic flavor.
3 Combine the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. This helps ensure that the dry ingredients are evenly mixed and free of lumps.
4 Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can lead to denser brownies.
5 Add Chocolate Chips (Optional)
If you want your brownies to be extra fudgy and chocolatey, fold in the chocolate chips. They’ll melt into the batter during baking, adding delicious pockets of gooey chocolate throughout the brownies.
6 Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). For fudgier brownies, bake on the shorter side of the time range; for firmer brownies, let them bake a little longer.
7 Cool and Serve
Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing them into squares. If you can, let them cool completely for the best texture, but we won’t blame you if you can’t wait to dig in!
8 Enjoy Your Decadent Chocolate Brownies
Serve as-is, or enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, or even a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
