Caramel Brownie Cheesecake

Instructions:
1. Prepare the Brownie Layer:
• Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix package (usually 350°F or 175°C).
• Prepare the brownie batter as instructed on the package. This typically involves mixing the brownie mix with eggs, oil, and water.
• Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom of the pan.
• Bake the brownie layer for the time specified on the package (usually about 20-25 minutes) until a toothpick inserted comes out with just a few crumbs attached. The brownie layer will continue to bake slightly after it’s removed from the oven, so be careful not to overbake it.
• Allow the brownies to cool completely while you prepare the cheesecake layer.
2. Make the Cheesecake Filling:
• In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until it’s smooth and creamy.
• Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until fully combined.
• Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is well-mixed.
• Stir in the sour cream and heavy cream until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
3. Assemble the Cheesecake:
• Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled brownie layer in the springform pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the top.
• Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for about 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center slightly jiggles when you tap the pan.
• Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for about 1 hour. This helps prevent cracks in the cheesecake as it cools.
• After the cheesecake has cooled to room temperature, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
4. Top with Caramel Sauce:
• Once the cheesecake is fully chilled and set, drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the top of the cheesecake.
• For extra flair, drizzle a little more caramel sauce over individual slices when serving.
5. Garnish and Serve:
• Top the cheesecake with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for a beautiful finishing touch.
• Slice, serve, and enjoy the perfect combination of creamy cheesecake, rich brownies, and sweet caramel.
Tips for Success:
• Use a Springform Pan: A springform pan is key to making sure your cheesecake comes out cleanly and stays intact. The removable sides make it easier to slice and serve without disturbing the layers.
• Chill Thoroughly: Let your cheesecake cool completely in the oven and then refrigerate it for at least 4 hours (or overnight). This ensures the cheesecake sets properly and slices beautifully.
• Caramel Sauce: You can use store-bought caramel sauce for convenience or make your own for an extra indulgent touch.
